CAPTURE & ROUTE

Capture, Route, Save.

Take screenshots the way you always have. One click sends them into the right capsule, so three months later you don't have to remember where you put it.

CAPSULES

Organisation without the tedious admin.

Each capsule collects one kind of reference: UI patterns, websites, branding. Your screenshots auto-organise into subgroups inside, so every pricing page or sign-in screen sits one glance away.

MENU BAR

Recent screenshots, available in a click.

Took a screenshot, got distracted, now you need it back? Your last four sit in the menu bar, ready to drag into Slack, Figma, or an email.

LOCAL

Private shots stay private.

Not every screenshot is worth organising. Folders are for the throwaways, and the AI never sees them. Only the shots you actively route into a capsule leave your Mac.

FAQ

Questions about Capsula

  • What does Capsula actually do that macOS doesn't?

macOS gives you the file. Capsula gives you a system. After the screenshot is taken, Capsula routes it into the right capsule, lets you find it again via OCR and AI captions, keeps recent shots in your menu bar, and quietly cleans up the ones you never came back to.

  • Does my data leave my Mac?

Only the screenshots you actively route into a capsule. Those get sent off to be tagged and sorted, then the result comes straight back. Anything you leave in a Folder stays entirely on your Mac, with no AI and no cloud involved. You decide, shot by shot, what leaves.

  • Does it work alongside CleanShot, Shottr, or other capture tools?

Yes. Capsula organises screenshots, it doesn't capture them, so it sits happily alongside tools like CleanShot or Shottr rather than competing with them. It's built around the native macOS screenshot shortcut, and its job begins the moment a shot lands on your Mac.

  • Can I import my existing screenshots?

Yes. There's no one-click importer, but it's simple: drop your existing screenshots into Capsula's dedicated screenshot folder and they appear on the Needs Screening page, ready to route into capsules exactly like a fresh capture. Your back catalogue gets sorted the same way as everything else.

  • What happens to screenshots I don't route?

Nothing is forced on them. They sit in a Folder, fully local and untouched by AI, for as long as you like. Capsula can also quietly tidy away old one-off shots you never came back to, so your library doesn't fill up with clutter. What stays is always your call.

  • macOS version? Apple Silicon or Intel?

Capsula needs macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later. It ships as a universal app, so it runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

  • Does Capsula sync across Macs?

No. Capsula is local-first by design, so your library lives on the Mac where you captured it. Your account and AI credits follow you when you sign in, but the screenshots themselves stay on the machine that took them.

  • What if I uninstall Capsula?

Your screenshots stay yours. Capsula keeps them as ordinary image files on your Mac, so if you ever uninstall, every shot is still right there to open, move, or back up like any other file. Nothing is trapped behind the app.
